VCG builds new interactive website for automaker's new product launch

VENICE, CA. September 14th, 2005 — Venice Consulting Group (VCG) announced today that the company has completed work on an innovative web application for renowned automaker, Lexus. Working together with Team One on an innovative and aggressive campaign to support the launch of the all new Lexus IS luxury sports sedan, VCG built a site specifically for the new automobile (www.TheNewIS.com).

The website features an interactive photo mosaic of the IS which is made up of thousands of photos submitted from visitors to the site. Photos uploaded by visitors to the website for the mosaic were randomly projected on the world famous Reuters board in New York City's Times Square.

Team One, the Southern California agency that has been Lexus' marketing and advertising partner since 1989, approached VCG to implement this vision for Lexus. With many never-before-seen creative elements, the Team One design team created an innovative challenge for the VCG developers.

The ground-breaking site was created in Flash technology for the front end, and programmed in Java for the back end functionality. Guests to www.TheNewIS.com are treated to stunning imagery composed of a photo mosaic of random images which simultaneously highlight the dramatic lines and classic styling of the new IS. Selecting major categories on the website leads to the rotation of an innovative homepage "cube" that directs visitors to the next section. The entire website fully encapsulates the vision that Lexus had for a major launch website, and was accomplished under a very tight timeline.

"When approached for this project, we knew that we were going to push existing technology to its maximum potential to accomplish something extraordinary.
