VPA, Inc. is an innovator in the absence and disability management industry, providing comprehensive custom disability benefit services for such Fortune 500 clients as PepsiCo, Hewlett-Packard, Charles Schwab, Edison International, Tricon Global Restaurants and Fluor Corporation.
VCG worked closely with the company to create VPA 2.0, which included an enhanced public website, a user friendly leave intake system, a robust employer data management solution, and an empowering content management system. The goal of the project was to streamline the processes for all stakeholders, both internal and external, through a dynamic, intuitive and professional online interface. The site contains four main sections: internet, intake, extranet, and internal administration. The internet section covers the public facing website and what is to become VPA’s new marketing tool. The intake section covers the enhanced process for receiving leaves, while the extranet section covers the data management, reporting, and mining of these leaves. Lastly, the internal administration section covers website content control and tools for the internal administration of the web site.
The site, built on the Microsoft ASP.NET Portal Framework, combined numerous components, including the Ektron Content Management System, and needed to integrate seamlessly with VPA’s previously developed business objects. In addition, a creative lifecycle was maintained to give a dynamic face to the application that was easy to navigate and provided a clean and professional display.
